Mayor Mark Boughton Ass-Whopped the Democrats Last Night at the Common Council Meeting: Someone didn't do their homework!

Wednesday, June 06, 2007

It is very clear from last night that Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton is extremely clever, too clever for the Democrats and the Republicans. The Danbury Common Council is currently a joke. The Democrats are not delivering- they talk (to much) but cannot deliver. The Republicans are just there, no voice of their own- just daydreaming. The almighty Boughton is left alone to govern the City.

If you missed the Common Council meeting last night you must watch my show Thursday, June 7, 2007 from 9 pm to 10 pm Comcast, channel 23. Everything you need to know will be spelled out on the show.

That is my perspective. See what others (Hat City Blog and the News Times) are saying.

It is not that the democrats did nothing. In fact they have and are attacking the issue. What corporation council and the mayor did last night is beyond belief. Maybe it's time to put people with ethics in city hall not people who are intimidated by the mayor to saying whatever he wants. Attorneys are supposed to be ethical, I guess for the last few years this has not occurred. I beginning to wonder who is in charge of the city, its people who are hateful and a person stated that Danbury is not known as the Hat City any longer, it's now known as Hate City. You should be very proud Mayor Mark.

2 points:
1. Who is calling Danbury "Hate City" It must be the illegals as they are the only ones who trash talk Danbury.

2. On a more serious note: The Republicans do not see the need to fill time talking just to hear themselves talk. They do their homework outside of the meetings and make informed decisions at the meeting. They ask pertinent questions for the record and vote their conscience rather than just try to obstruct. Let's ask City Department Heads how many contacts they receive from Republican's versus how many they receive from Democrats.

1. It's Mayor Boughton and Elise Marciano who made the term "Hate City" common talk.

2. The Republicans on the Council (like Anon) are completely clueless zombies beholden to a mayor who runs the city the way HE wants. After last night, Rilley and Stanley should resign. I hope Rilly's sellout vote was worth his son getting a well-paid job for the city...and best wishes to Stanley's kid for killing a person while driving.

As for City Department heads, funny how I didn't see many of them at the budget meetings.

People over politics or POLITICS over the people?

I'd say "ass-whopped" demands at least the semblance of a fair fight.

The Mayor, backed up by the City's (not the Mayor's) attorney, cast an illegal vote and refused to take responsibility for doing so. Instead, the attorney shifted everything into the realm of Parliamentary sleight-of-hand. The Mayor had the opportunity to take the ethical step of returning things to the point before his illegal vote but chose not to.

Ass-whopped? No. Flim-flammed? Perhaps.

Was there strong-arming of two outspoken Republican dissidents? Quite likely. How? We can only speculate.

Hmmm..Keep peoples kids out of politics. There's a novel idea. Too bad the city council members, and "Mark" don't think it's one worth considering.
