Acoustic Rock Music Videos for Your Pleasure

Tuesday, September 26, 2006

Dave King is a singer-songwriter who hails from Connecticut , USA . He describes his music as “acoustic rock.” Dave’s full-length CD, Shades of Dave showcases his poignant writing, moving vocal style and rich musical talent. It contains 13 original songs that cover a broad landscape of musical and emotional territory. Songs range from the upbeat exuberance of These Are The Good Times to the melancholic isolation of Nobody Sings To Me in a very engaging and personal way.

Genevieve Will of indie-music.com says, “King invokes spasms of Bob Dylan-style storytelling to surface from the chaos with an astounding album stuffed with potential for success.”
Dave King has received airplay on radio stations WSHU-FM, WPKN-FM, WMNR-FM Y105-FM and I-95-FM . Dave has also appeared on television on The Guitar Show. Time Out and Ideas At Work.

Currently, Dave is writing and recording new material. His recent song, Hey There Mister President is a protest song in the style of early Bob Dylan. It received a lot of attention on Neil Young's Living With War web site. Last year, Dave released a CD containing two songs, Pretty Kitty and Too Much Time.

Same-Sex Marriage: Will Connecticut Be Next?

Background:
October 1st 2006 marks the one year anniversary of the enactment of the civil union law in Connecticut. That law created a separate marital status for same-sex couples in Connecticut, giving them nearly all the rights, benefits, and responsibilities that are granted to a spouse under state law. Love Makes a Family is the largest gay rights organization in Connecticut (with over 16,000 supporters), working for the right to marry for same-sex couples.

Contact information for Love Makes a Family:

Why This Topic?
As the Executive Producer of Ideas at Work and Beyond, I believe people should not be denied their inalienable rights based on their sexual orientation. Therefore, I invited the largest gay and lesbian organization in Connecticut on this program to further explore the issue of same-sex marriage in Connecticut.
