Upon her return after the marrige ended, she continued her education and went to the university with her children.

After earning two degrees from Howard University, Brenda Whitted received a scholarship to Yale University where she earned another degree in African Art history. She is now an Associate Professor of Art at Virginia State University. She is committed to the concept of teaching to enrich the learning experience and promoting community cross cultural awareness. Mrs. Whitted is an illustrator, a painter, educator, mentor and leader with a unique understanding of cultural value.

She is collaborating with her daughter Michele Mveng-Magana on numerous projects. Through their children's books, they will attempt to empower children with the importance of knowing their history and the positive contributions of family as well as knowing how important a good concept of self can enrich them and help them understand their capabilities in life.

Michele Mveng-Magana is a French, Spanish and ESL teacher. She has dedicated her life to children as well. She has also been very involved in the foreign community in DC, Virginia and now in Danbury Conn, teaching immigrants English and survival skills in order to succeed in the United States. Mrs. Magana has another passion that she is presently seeking as well; it is cooking.

She plans to attend culinary school part-time this fall. She is also a personal chef and she is looking forward to exploring this avenue as well.
