The Marty Heiser Show

Leading the way: Danbury and Darfur. September 28, 2006 Broadcast

Sunday, October 01, 2006

Guests:
Danbury High Assistant Principal, Tim Salem and Danbury High students

Description:
The September 28th, 2006 show featured guests from Danbury High School speaking about the ongoing atrocities in the Darfur region of Sudan. David Suero and I accompanied this group to the September 17th "Save Darfur" rally in Central Park, New York City. Clips from the rally are shown in this segment. The students interviewed a woman from Darfur who recently left the region and attended the rally to plead for immediate intervention on behalf of her people. I interviewed the group from Danbury High to focus on upcoming events related to their continual efforts on behalf of the civilians of Darfur. Additionally I challenged African-Americans to become more intimately involved with this issue within the Danbury community and nationwide.
